The Affymetrix GeneChip® Instrument System consists of the GeneChip Fluidics Station, GeneChip Hybridization, and GeneArray Scanner. The system includes a computer workstation loaded with Microarray Suite Software 5.0 which are on the NYU network to provide ease of access to data and data analysis tools.
The Agilent G256CA Scanner is a highly versatile scanner that can read the custom and pre-designed Agilent microarrays. The instrument can read high density spotted arrays (e.g., 8x60k) and has the flexibility of one color or two color scanning. The facility also has an Agilent hybridization oven and other equipment for labeling, washing and staining. This instrument will permit low cost high throughput microarray projects.
The Roche 480 LightCycler system consists of a thermal cycler used for rapid real-time quantitative PCR and SNP detection, a computer to control the thermal cycler, and software for the design of probes for hybridization probe analysis and primers for SYBR green analysis. Software for data analysis on the LightCycler is also available.
